Richie McCaw Speaking Engagement

I would like to talk about a very special event that was held at Happo-en on Monday, May 29. Rugby legend Richard McCaw held a speaking engagement to support the victims of the Great Tohoku Earthquake if 2011. Mr. McCaw played for the New Zealand All Blacks for 15 years, including 11 years as team captain, and led the All Blacks to the Rugby World Cup title in both 2011 and 2015.

Mr. McCaw’s visit to Japan included stops in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and the Tohoku region, and was in service to the Support Our Kids Charity, which helps the children who were victims of the Tohoku Earthquake. At Happo-en, he spoke about overcoming difficult situations, as he did during his playing career. Mr. McCaw fought through injuries, immense pressure, and the devastating Christchurch Earthquake, and stressed the importance of the support he received from his family, friends, and fans.

A portion of the proceeds from this event was donated to Support Our Kids.

Happo-en will continue to concentrate on holding events dedicated to social responsibility. Through this charity and others, we want to aggressively hold more dynamic MICE, and give our guests an Amazing Experience through our planning and production contributions.
