Happo-en’s organic deli and cafe VEGETABLE LIFE is celebrating its six-month anniversary.

VEGETABLE LIFE is our organic deli and cafe that opened last November and is located in Yukashi no Mori, which is a local history museum in Minato District. This eighty-year-old historical building is right by Shirokanedai station.

This is our first cafe with a deli-style food menu. We offer lunch sets and organic coffee that are also available for take out, as well as soft serve ice cream and other desserts made from soy milk.

We use naturally farmed ingredients as much as possible, creating meals that cultivate wellness from within. Natural farming has less environmental impact than organic farming, because it is a method that farms in sync with nature and relies on the land’s natural process of production, instead of using organic fertilizers.

Many customers also enjoy purchasing the naturally farmed vegetables that are sold at the storefront.

We do not use any plastic in our takeout lunch boxes and cutlery, and we try to use environmentally conscious products as much as possible.

Our paper napkins made from used green tea leaves have a gentle green hue and are tea-scented. Even our coffee cup lids are made of paper, not plastic.

“What is the small action we can take today for future sustainability?” This question is shaping Happo-en’s vision for more earth-conscious and holistic service to the world.
