Making a difference one step at a time through initiatives that have begun or initiatives that are about to begin.

Here at Happo-en, we believe that if we can improve society, even just a little bit, it will surely lead to someone’s happiness in the future. Furthermore, we hope that these actions will lead not only to the happiness of everyone in Japan, but to the happiness of everyone in the wo

This is way we are more than ever dedicated to see just how much we can contribute to society.

But we understand that there is a limit to what we can do on our own and this is why we believe we must go beyond the boundaries of our department, company and country. Just as we have worked in collaboration with many partners in the past to create weddings and business events.

In the field of social contribution, we aim to create a happy and sustainable future through the power of partnerships with their wisdom and support.

Delivering the Deliciousness of Oshima Milk and Butter from Izu Oshima to the Nation

One of Happo-en’s food initiatives would be our “Oshima Nippon Croissant”, a croissant which combines the delectable Japanese ingredients of Oshima butter and milk.

This croissant, a signature product of Happo-en’s original bakery brand “Blue Tree”, was made in collaboration by Happo-en’s baker Takefumi Aoki and other staff members, who carefully selected Japanese ingredients from all over Japan. This “Japanese croissant” is so delectable you will want to eat it every day and will never get tired of it!

The “Oshima Nippon croissant” is not only made from the rare Oshima butter and milk, which is rarely found outside of the island, but also consists of salt from Oshima, wheat from Hokkaido, and natural yeast from the Shirakami Mountains, which is a World Heritage site, and best of all it is additive-free.

Our croissant was created after our encounter with Oshima producers, who are working to make the dairy industry in Izu Oshima more sustainable, and it is our hope to bring the taste of these croissants to as many people as possible.

Enjoy the delicious taste of “Oshima Nippon Croissant” that was baked with a passion and heart of Oshima producers, from the comfort of our own home.

Creating an Online Community while Eating and Learning through the Power of Sake

he event, “Enjoy Sake Tasting with a Brewer” has become a regular event at Happo-en.

For this event, we invite sake breweries from all over Japan to share their stories about their experiences, brewing cultures, the industry, as well as their commitment to their craft, while guests sample their famous sakes. We at Happo-en continue to host this event as it allows people to make new discoveries and create new connection with others while experiencing an artisan’s culture and charm of their region.

While various events were unable to go as planned, we made the decision to host a new online version of this popular event, “Enjoying Sake with a Brewer” on Saturday, May 30, 2020.

For this first time online event, we invited Rokkusen, a brewer from Yamagata Prefecture.

Participants were delivered in advance four types of sake from Rokkusen and four original items that were created to pair with each individual type of sake by our head Chef at Happo-en.

Once guests accessed the event through “zoom” they were able to listen to the Rokkosen brewer share the origins of their famous products while guests enjoyed tasting the brewer’s famous sake and several lite meals.

We received such positive feedback from participants such as “the new online experience was very satisfying” as well as “I hope it will be hosted again,” that we have decided to host a second online event.
