In light of the ever-changing situation surrounding Covid-19, Happo-en has created a new type of event participation that has become very popular among various groups.

From “participating in events at a venue” to “participating in online events,” we are pleased to announce a third type of event participation; “Online events that provides a two way connection between the event venue and all attendees while everyone partakes in the same meal.” We will be announcing more events like this in October!

For many, eating out in restaurants is still not an option as many are working, raising children and even staying home to help support their families. With this in mind, why not create a special homemade meal for your loved ones as a token of your appreciation for their continuous support? Learn how to make a special meal that will add a splash of flavor to your everyday meals at home!

On Saturday, October 10, 2020, under the title “My Home Restaurant @Online,” Happo-en chefs will be hosting an online cooking class, where even novice cooks will be able to create this homemade meal! With the support of Happo-en chefs, you can enjoy a cooking class from the comfort of your own home, while using ingredients that were prepared and sent by Happo-en, ensuring a professional taste and an overall beautiful presentation.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to connect online with Happo-en’s chefs as they can provide you advice in real time, as you create a homemade meal for your loved ones.

2. Savor the precious flavor of sake from home with our “Online Sake Tasting with a Brewer” on Friday, October 16, 2020

The event, “Sake Tasting with a Brewer,” which is Happo-en’s most popular sake event, invites a sake brewer to speak in depth about their sake brewing process. In addition, attendees will be able to compare the different types of sake while enjoying a special meal made created by Happo-en’s Head Chef, who prepare each dish to pair with the different types of sake.

Matsubaya Honten sake is very hard to find outside the prefecture, making it truly a very rare and sought after sake. The theme for this event is “Revel in the Long Autumn Night with Nagano Prefecture’s Famous Sake and Food,” and for this one-night-only event we have prepared special appetizers that incorporate the many autumn flavors of Nagano Prefecture but were also made to pair specifically with the precious sake from Matsubaya Honten.

Before the day of the event, we will send all participants three types of Matsubaya Honten sake and four original Happo-en pairing appetizers.

We hope you will join our community of sake enthusiasts on this lovely autumn night, as we experience a taste of Nagano foods and spirits from the comfort of your own home.
