Enjoy Summer Festivals from All Over Japan
For three nights, Happo-en’s garden is the setting for matsuri festivals, complete with old-fashioned entertainment like ring tossing and fishing for rubber yoyos. Thursday night features the Koenji Awa Odori dancers, Friday night the Eysa dancers from Okinawa, and Saturday night the Yosakoi dancers from Asaka (Saitama prefecture), all performing on the Kagura raised stage erected for the occasion. A “live kitchen” will also be featured for the occasion. Admission includes drinks as well as food from food stalls serving many traditional Japanese foods. This event could be one of your most treasured memories of Japan.
