The plastic waste problem is a current issue world wide. It is said that more than 150 million tons have been dumped into the sea, and by 2050 there will be more plastic waste than fish. It is even expected that there will be even more plastic waste than before. To address this problem, our first initiative was to eliminate the use of fossil fuel-based plastic straws completely in 2019. Instead, we have introduced biodegradable straws made from polylactic acid, which is a naturally recyclable resin derived from plants. We've just begun to break free of plastic, but with this item you wont be able to tell the difference from a traditional straw, instead you can feel at ease knowing that it is gentle on nature.
What is plant-derived plastic?
Biodegradable plastic reduces the impact on the environment because of its microbial degradability. Through the action of microorganisms, it is eventually broken down into water and carbon dioxide.
