“Hachiju-hachiya 2016” Japanese Tea Event

The “Hachiju-hachiya” is a once-a-year event held every autumn, where guests can learn new ways of enjoying Japanese tea. On this occasion, guests were treated to an imaginative menu highlighting the year’s new tea carefully selected by leading Kyoto tea merchant Fukuju-en. Lessons in new ways of brewing green tea, such as in cold water or using the siphon method, as well as how to make matcha powdered green tea, were also very popular.
