Arita porcelain maker (Arita, Saga Prefecture) Satoru Matsumoto

After graduating from university, Satoru Matsumoto worked at a bank for a few years before returning to the family business, where he established the Arita Porcelain Lab for the purpose of developing porcelain products suited to modern life. This year is the 400th anniversary of the birth of world-famous Arita ware, and Matsumoto continues to develop new products while respecting traditional techniques, so that Arita ware will remain relevant for the next 500 years.
Happo-en is now working on developing an afternoon tea menu that features Arita porcelain produced by Matsumoto.
